# About TattooStudioGuide

TattooStudioGuide is an independent directory of tattoo shops, run by TattooStudioGuide.

## Where listings come from

Details come from each tattoo shop’s own public website and social pages, and from submissions sent with our form. Each listing records its source and the date it was last checked or changed. No ratings, reviews or invented hours or prices.

## Basic and Verified listings

Basic listings are free. Their details come from public sources (the tattoo shop’s own website and social pages) or from a submission, and each shows the date it was last updated. Nobody at the tattoo shop has confirmed a Basic listing with us.

Verified, a paid plan, is coming soon. Before we label a listing Verified, we check the tattoo establishment license with the state or local health department that issues it, and confirm the details with the owner. Until it opens, every listing is Basic and nobody can pay for placement.
